Q+A with Vern
1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
I enjoyed the experience so much the 1st time around, that I had to do it again!
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
Not seeing is the surprise when it’s all said and done…I love it!
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
I have to admit, I was quite surprised by this roll. I remember thinking along the way…”I hope this turns out”, you know, the way you see it at that moment. Well, I loved most of what I saw, so I have to say that I have 7 favorites. 3226003, 4, 5, 14, 23, 24, and 26.
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
You just might see more from me down the road.
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
I don’t know why it doesn’t stick in my head, but when photos are posted on facebook, there are usually a few different links and I always fumble through to find the one where I can see other photos from that person. Does that make sense?
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Totally laughed that the angle at which I shot my selfie, gave me a shadow across my face. No wonder why I could see out of that eye. Slowing becoming more comfortable in front of the lens. I am who I am, right?
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
Like I said earlier, I am thrilled. Some out of focus ones, but also a few gems.
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
I already did. This time I bought a spare camera and let the kids do it with me. However, they blew through the frames rather quickly.
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Sure.
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
Who wouldn’t!
