Q+A with Julia
1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
It was kind of frustrating because I never knew if I’d actually taken the picture! The rolly thing doesn’t even indicate this properly! But it was super fun and sort of like one big adventure, too.
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
Um, scared… Haha but excited to see them. What I thought they’d turn out like and what they actually did turn out like was completely different so it was very interesting!
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
The best photo from my roll of film would have to be the one of the Crocodile Dundee 3 DVD on my legs because I’d mentioned once to a man I was dating (who’s now my boyfriend) many months beforehand that I was desperate for it because I owned the other two and loved it like the true aussie bogan I was! He went away for a month and a bit and when he got back and picked me up for our first date he had it sitting in my passenger seat and I laughed and laughed for ages before finally calming down enough to take the photo! Great memory.
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
YES! Sign me up.
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
Maybe the last picture has to be a photo of something you created? I noticed that most of the people taking part are pretty arty, maybe that could be a fun way to share their work as well as show more about themselves?
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Yep! It was hard to do haha but fun.
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I thought… ‘Julia, you suck at going back in time and using these cameras, you need to brush up on your skills’ but I also had a giggle and was happy to see them.
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
Hmmm, I’d probably use the flash so my photo’s actually turned out properly! Haha.
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
OF COURSE! That sounds freaking awesome.
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
YES! Yes I would.
11.) Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Loved it x.x.x.
