Indisposable Concept gallery featuring Lyla W. Shot with a Disposable Camera.
Where: Various festivals and doofs across NSW and Victoria, AUS.
When: December, 2016
Hi, my names Lyla Wessels and I’m an 18-year-old student from Sydney, Australia. I’ve been using disposable cameras for a little over a year now and just happened to come across your concept on instagram one day. I think in the society we live in where hundreds of photos can be taken without a second thought on Iphones and etc. it almost drowns and diminishes the significance of that memory or snapshot in your life. Theres a weight to every photo you take on a disposable camera due to the limited number of photos you have in a roll, and for me this really makes me cherish each photo I have because I know when I took that photo I wanted to remember and preserve that specific time or moment.
This particular film was captured over a couple of weeks while road tripping with friends to various festivals and doofs across NSW and Victoria. I absolutely loved shooting this film; to have tangible memories of certain snapshots in your life is such an incredible thing to have and I really feel like each shot embodied the personality of each of my friends.
I would absolutely love to be apart of your movement and really hope you enjoy my photos!
Thanks so much,
