Indisposable Concept gallery featuring Jesse H.
My name is Jesse Hughey. I’m a musician and photographer based in Seattle, WA. I like to break disposable cameras and see what happens.
I play in the band, Grey Waves (greywaves.bandcamp.com), and I post photos on Instagram @grey.waves and Tumblr (jessehughey.tumblr.com).
I shot this roll of film in June of 2016 while on a ten-day tour West Coast. We booked the tour around some of our favorite drives, and some beautiful places to hang out in between shows. We drove across Idaho and Utah, stopped in Vegas for 45 minutes, played a desert dive bar in Joshua Tree, and spent a night in a surf town on the California coast.
I love taking photos when I’m on the road. On tour everything bleeds together; days, shows, landscapes, highways- every day is constant motion. I feel like most things have passed before they seem to fully come into focus. Because of the nature of taking multiple exposures, I feel like I can occasionally capture that pace. The undefined washed out characteristics of the each landscape and the neon signs over the next morning’s drive try to communicate the space in between each exposure.
