Indisposable Concept gallery featuring Ada R.
Dear Indisposable Concept Team,
I’m Ada, I’m 25 yo and I love shooting film. I’m from Poland, I study in Warsaw. I’m involved in some other things concerning art, too. I most preferably shoot with my Olympus mju II camera. A year ago I was in the United States to travel and work as a lifeguard at a water park in Long Island. I obviously took my camera with me and took three films before it broke some time in the middle of my stay in an unfortunate accident. As I only shoot film, and had problems repairing my Olympus, I decided to buy disposable cameras and shoot with them. In the end, I shot 7 films with them (not all of them turned out well though) and discovered they are very comfy for shooting.
With the cameras I was exploring life in NY and documenting my first time being in America ever. After I came back, I found out about IC on Instagram (by the way, my nick on IG: @toniewypvdv). I’m following IC for a long time now and was thinking about connecting with you somehow. I finally decided to share these pictures with you because, although I’m a totally un-professional, “self-made” photographer, shooting film is my greatest hobby and I wanted to become part of the IC community. I rarely show my pics to anyone and I wanted to change that. As an analog photography fan, I really appreciate your work and the fact that you spread the idea of shooting film. These pictures capture me (blond girl in glasses) with the people I spent most time with (from Poland, Russia, Romania and US). Some of the pictures show American life as I saw it, some are NSFW :-)). I took these in Long Island and in NYC from July to September 2014. I also took some photographs at a Clipping show in Glasslands Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (the place closed permanently in December 2014). I’m sending them all in separate messages.
