Q+A with Haley J (Roll 3)

1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
I enjoy this experience very much. I took far longer than I did the last two times I did this project. These pictures span over a 5 month period – trying to capture moments here and there that I can with friends and exploring and such!

2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
I love it. I also love the fact that by the time I get my pictures developed – I’m able to see what I did, because over 5 months, I easily forgot what all I did. So that was exciting.

3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
I actually have two favorites.
1. The second picture – my friend and I went to a store that sold art and artifacts in Minneapolis. The lights in it are just amazing. I love how its bright on the top of the picture, and then slowly fades out at the bottom.
2. Photo 11 – a vertical picture of my friend standing in front of a frozen water fall. I just love the colors and I love how clean it turned out.

4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
This is my third roll – duuuh.

5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
Maybe adding a new thing that you have to take a picture.

6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Very much so. Gives you an idea of whose roll it is

7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I was sad at how some turned out more blurry than I wanted – not sure what was up with that but oh well.

8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
Hmmmmm i can’t think of anything@

9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Maybe

10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
Would love to! But I would also love to personally be able to see it myself…

11.) Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Photos 1 and 3 aren’t edited!!! We went to the Guthrie theatre here in Minneapolis and there is an elevated room that is made of yellow glass windows – its always fun seeing how the camera catches the colors that come from it!
