1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera?
I use them all the time, so it was enjoyable…except I felt a weird sense of pressure this time knowing I was sending them out into the world!
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
That is the thing I love most about film! I feel like we all get so caught up in making sure an image perfect on digital cameras, so it’s always a beautiful thing to see flaws or imperfections that make an image what it is.
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
I’d say number 12. The one where my two friends are doing cartwheels on the coast. They are both from overseas and I decided to do the ambitious drive up the Great Ocean Rd in one day. Due to time we shouldn’t have stopped, but as we were driving past and an overwhelming feeling of urgency to run on the beach made me get out….dragging those two along with me.
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
Already on it!
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
I think what you’re doing is great. I’ll think about it.
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfle?
Didn’t love it…but that is because I’d rather be behind the camera.
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
Loved it all. I didn’t even remember what I took, and it was such a wonderful experience reliving each of those summer moments.
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
I think this time, I am being more considered with my images. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing, but I definitely feel like I’m doing something new.
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Yeah, I would! But I don’t think that that is a pull for me. I love shooting and I love the idea.
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
That would be rad!
11.) Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Thanks again for this project!
