Q+A with Alexis C:

1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
I actually found the experience of using a disposable camera rather enjoyable. It was way easier traveling with a light weight disposable camera instead of lugging around my supper heavy canon rebel or FT.

2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
It worried me not being able to see any of the photos that I took. I’ve shot with film before and I’m always worried that they might be over or under exposed. It’s exciting at the same time though because film always has this cool effect without having to edit it.

3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
My favorite photo would have to be #7. The way the sunset looks behind a beautiful curving tree. Ugh, so perf.

4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
I’m not only interested, but I WILL be shooting another roll! I just got some Ilford’s and expired disposable cameras in the mail and I would love to use one of them for your experiment.

5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
Maybe an online shop with some of your guys favorite disposable camera brands or make your own brand? Also a shop where we can purchase each others prints. I’ve seen some rad ones on here that I’m interested in.

6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Not at all haha! Especially since I could not see it before hand…I was really awkward and didn’t read the part where we could have someone else take it till after -_-

7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
When I saw the final outcome I was disappointed that a lot of them didn’t develop because they were underexposed. The ones that did come out however were great! It was different from what I originally saw with my own eyes, but that’s the beauty of film. It always shows you a different point of view.

8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
Besides reminding myself to turn the flash on, not really.

9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Yes! Who doesn’t like free stuff?

10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
Yes, that would be so rad!

11. Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
Having to shoot an entire film in a week actually makes you slow down and admire the beauty that’s around you. Thank you for that! Definitely won’t be the last time I do this!
