Q+A with Haley J

1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
I loved it! I bought a waterproof disposable camera so that I could bring a camera with me, while white water rafting, and not have to worry about the camera and my pictures  getting ruined. The only thing that was painful for me was the fact that I had the camera strap around my foot while I was rafting, so that I wouldn’t have been bothered by the  camera on my wrist or anything. But overall, it was fun!

2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
It made me feel a little uneasy… I had to take more time on what I was taking a picture of, but I was very excited to see how they turned out! My father went and took the camera  to walgreens, and when he came home with it, I was jumping and screaming for joy!! I was so excited to see them, and I was excited to see all the greens that came out!

3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
Hmm.. I really enjoyed image number one because of all the different colors in it! I love seeing all the tubes stacked on top of each other, and seeing everyone in a crowd  together! I also looove number 7 because you’re able to see so much green in it, and also seeing the splashing of the water! I love how you can also see all the joy in the  peoples faces! Its just great 🙂

4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
I’ve already started.

5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
I feel like everything was very simple and allowed you to do what you want – under 3 terms. Which I personally enjoyed very much. So, No!

6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Yes I did. I feel like it was a great way to be able to show who the person was and a way to say “This is ‘said persons name’ roll of film” so yes!

7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I thought they were great! They were exactly what I wanted (except for my selfie being a little… smugged and blurry I believe that was from some water on the viewfinder though)  and they showed all the green that I wanted and was hoping for!

8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
I probably wouldn’t use all my film up on one trip… Oh well!

9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
No. I wouldn’t be very to happy about it, and wouldn’t try because… I just don’t enjoy competitions.

10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
Yes! I’d love to let people enjoy my pictures!
