Q+A with Vanessa S
1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
I found the experience to be really fun and very freeing. It reminded me of when I would go on a vacation and have a camera around that I wasn’t worried about losing (well, sort of).
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
I didn’t mind not seeing the images, I shoot film on a regular basis as well as digital and mobile.
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
My favorite image would either be #9 or #13. #9 was shot by my (almost) 3year old daughter and # 13 was shot by me- the kids eating a Popsicle is pure summer time to me.
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
I would definitely love to shoot another roll! #believeinfilm
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
I think letting each photographer have their own experience without assumptions is all part of the process.
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
I don’t mind at all and think including a self portrait is a great way for your ‘users’ to say hi!
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I had to laugh at a several of the images were actually shot by my two kids (almost 5 and almost 3 years old). They kept sneaking off with the camera and shooting with it.
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
I would approach it differently next time around. I would like to take a photo at the same time every day for the week or utilize it to shoot a theme of some sort during the week.
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
yes!
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
yes!
