Q+A with Aleesha
1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
It was really fun taking the photos and imagining how they’ll look….the painful part is when you see that sometimes it doesn’t translate & not all of the photos are fabulous!
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
It made me nervous with the ‘selfie’ & really excited with the others.
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
The photos of my dachshund are my favourite because she is so photogenic and beautiful. I like the photo of the flowers in my backyard as well..& the Nick Cave after party flyer photo. I like most of them!
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
I would love to!
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
I think the concept is flawless. It is the participant who makes it more or less interesting.
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
It made me nervous (as I mentioned before) but I love the idea of having a ‘face to a name’. I’m not smiling in mine though..I usually smile!
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I was mostly pleased with them. There was a couple that I wish were clearer or better in general but that is the reality of the whole process. Shoot carefully!
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
Yes I would be more thoughtful and careful. I would also create a theme and not have so many sporadic images that don’t complement each other.
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Maybe..never say never..but I like the idea of it all being for fun.
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment?
Only the good ones! J
11.) Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Thanks for creating something so fun and interactive!
