Q+A with Truc N
1.) How did you find the experience of using the disposable camera? Enjoyable or painful?
It was fun and easy because I didn’t worry about retaking photos. Although I don’t have a lot of experience taking photos and because I’m a bit OCD, I was a little stressed about the photo composition (it all contributed to the experience).
2.) How did it make you feel not being able to see the photos as they were taken and not being able to edit or know what the photos turned out like?
I’m anxious! So very anxious!
3.) From your roll of film what was your fave image and why?
I love all the people in each photo. But if I muust choose one, I might say that I like the photo of the sombrero hat and blue wigged friends. That, and my selfie, are the only non-candid photos.
4.) Would you be interested in shooting another roll?
I would love the participate again, in a few years time perhaps. Maybe I would continue with the theme of my favourite people 🙂
5.) Is there anything else we could include or introduce to make the experience more interesting?
Not that I can think of.
6.) Did you enjoy the aspect of shooting a selfie?
Umm.. not really. I hope that my ‘selfie’ is selfie enough.. I just wanted it to also fit in with the rest of the photos. Although, I do like the idea that every camera has one photo that is must be taken of. The compilation that you make of the selfies is great too.
7.) What did you think of the outcomes when you saw the final photos?
I haven’t seen them yet to be honest. Sorry!
8.) Would you approach the concept differently if you had another go?
I would hope to be able to take better photos 🙂 I would still want to take photos of my loved ones and I would like to be more consistent with the theme of the photos because there are some odd ones in there (my hand by accident, the cat, the sombrero and wigged friends, and the lyrics).
9.) Would you enter into the concept if it was set up in a competition format with prizes to be won?
Prizes are a nice touch, but not necessary. I’m more interested in the actual concept itself where people are inspired to share aspects of their life with others. I feel that making competitions would reduce the ‘genuinity’ of the contributions.
10.) Would you like to see your photos presented in a gallery exhibition environment.
Sure! If they’re good enough.
